Ensure all septic systems are functional by 2030 to reduce septic leaching, improving water quality on land, beaches and in the ocean.
Eradicate stoats, rats and other island pests by 2027 to continue rebuilding native bird population.
Create household compost and green waste collection for island-wide use of compost, healthy soils and fertile gardens.
Protect and preserve Waiheke's night skies through implementing lighting management plan legislation.
Supplement upgrading domestic septic systems and improve management of stormwater runoff.
Support community-led programmes that achieve sustainable and low carbon behaviour change.
Protect the gulf marine environment by banning bottom trawling and supporting the Hākaimangō-Matitia Marine Reserve.
Continue the local board's Ngahere Strategy and implement emergency management plans for climate change.
Encourage Waiheke to become a leader in achieving net-zero emissions and developing a pathway to full solar and energy resilience.
