The Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of seven members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. three members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Upgrade local parks and sport facilities to provide safe, accessible spaces for families and youth.

    Support community-led festivals that celebrate and uplift Pasifika, Māori and diverse cultures.

    Expand youth-friendly spaces such as libraries, halls and creative hubs for arts and learning.

  • Fight for equitable funding of pools, libraries, parks and playgrounds after years of underinvestment in community facilities.

    Keep celebrating diverse cultures with events big and small, including Lantern Festival, PolyFest and Movies in Parks, for all to enjoy.

    Stand with the community to oppose liquor licences that do not help reduce alcohol harm in neighbourhoods.
