West Harbour Community Board

The West Harbour Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Dunedin City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper.   • Survey residents on their views on council services and advocate for any changes that residents want pushed forward.

    Support capping future rates increases.

    Look into potential restructuring of ORC and its ownership of public assets.

  • Provide a strong and clear voice on local issues to DCC and ORC.

    Build the mana of WHCB based on teamwork and respect.

    Promote local knowledge and local perspectives in decision making.

  • Support hosting regular community forums to gather resident input on local projects and initiatives.

    Seek to collaborate with neighbouring community boards on wider issues and projects to amplify advocacy and pool resources.

    Foster the inclusion of mana whenua and ethnic communities to ensure their views are represented in the fabric of West Harbour.
