Restore Porirua harbour through strict development controls on silt and sediment runoff and ramp up the riparian planting program.
Establish council rubbish bins alongside the recycling collection program to reduce recycling contamination, litter and fly tipping.
Support pest and predator free sanctuary initiatives starting with making the Whitireia peninsula predator free using Miramar as a model.
Implement the Porirua Harbour Accord including ensuring new developments and existing infrastructure do not contaminate the harbour.
Support local groups active on the environment, eg Predator Free, and maintain the riparian planting programme.
Advocate for a review of the failing recycling scheme and community-led options to divert greenwaste from the landfill.
Create a platform for the community to view water health, marine ecology and biodiversity results under the Porirua Harbour Accord.
Increase partnership with Predator Free Porirua and use the council website and facilities to promote community participation.
Develop a regional waste management plan as Spicer Landfill is not a long-term solution for the community and region.
