Protect the environment for the future by stopping invasive pest species destroying native fauna and flora.

Prioritise waste management to stop microplastics and other toxic compounds being released or leaching into the environment.

Check the efficiency and effectiveness of enforcement and compliance to ensure they are sufficient for the task.

Liaise with relevant stakeholders for preemptive and proactive responses to environmental incidents such as chemical spills due to accidents.

Conduct review and due diligence on pest control and biodiversity by liaising with appropriate staff such as dog patrol and pest control.

Ensure waste management and minimisation comply with council rules and conduct due diligence on operational systems.

As a future mayor, I will not take predetermined positions that would prohibit participation in discussions.

Have already made statements for the Auckland Council website that were sent out to all candidates.

Aim to be more effective as mayor of both Auckland and Christchurch in achieving more government support funding.

Support Auckland Council's regional pest management plan which outlines objectives and rules for managing both animal and plant pests.

Support watercare to better manage water in the region.

Protect and correctly utilise the limited arable land for agricultural use.

Phase out use of harmful chemicals, particularly in pest and weed control and agricultural use, opting for non-chemical alternatives.

Push for the revitalisation and restoration of degraded land and waterways.

Plant native species corridors connecting parks to support insects, bird movement and improve water quality.

Strengthen penalties for environmental violations to ensure companies cannot profit from ecosystem destruction.

Create comprehensive zero-waste infrastructure to protect life from landfill and ocean pollution.
